Assignments for the week 1
1.1. Conduct an experiment to know the frequency response of left and right ear alongwith its bandwidth. Equipment required : Signal Generator, Speaker. Connect the speaker to the signal generator and vary the frequencies and hear the sound (by left and right ear). Note the smallest and largest frequency that your left and right ear can hear.
1.2. Record the sound for a few seconds using SOUND RECORDER Tool of Windows. Convert the WMF file to WAV file by using utility available on the Internet. Load the wav file in MATLAB environment. Use two filters low pass and high pass as explained in the class. Use the recorded sound as input. save the output of two filters in separate (.wav) files. Listen to the two output files by using any of the sound player.
1.3. Perform the Fourier Series Analysis for Half Wave and Full Wave rectified output waveforms. Obtain the values of a0, an, and bn for both the waveforms.
This is to be completed before 4th August 2014.
